​This will be the Fourth Annual AFCC Global Biobased Economy Conference!

AFCC Global Biobased Economy Conference and Exhibition

November 20-22, 2024

​The conference will focus on promoting Industrial Biotechnology throughout this multi-day conference and exhibition. To kick off the event there will be a reception on Wednesday evening, November 20, 2024 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m., included in the registration ticket of the conference. 

​

​The conference will include featured speakers during Breakout sessions, Plenary Programs, Workshops and Poster Presentations on the following subjects:

  • Global biobased economy

  • Recycling, Composting, Biodegradation

  • Biobased product manufacturing and certification

  • Programs in Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) by Leadership from Federal Agencies will United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DoD), Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation, (DOD), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), and other sister agencies and other key federal agency programs

  • Industrial biotechnology projects influencing international innovation

  • And other key federal agency programs

  • Hear about financing strategies, creative ways to finance your projects and companies with equity, debt and insurance

  • Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) in connection with industrial biotechnology projects
     

​Five Educational Subjects throughout the Conference

  • Biobased Manufacturing: Renewable Chemicals, Bioplastics, Biomaterials Creating a Cleaner Planet

  • Sustainable Feedstocks, Biofuels, Food and Feed Products Driving Decarbonization

  • Renewable Specialty Chemicals

  • Synthetic Biology, Alternative Proteins, Regenerative Agriculture, Food & Fiber, Biofuels

  • And a new Track, “Building the Biobased Economy Supply Chain.” Featuring End of Life, Recycling, Biodegradable, Compostable Products, Certification, Carbon Intensity Manufacturing Labels for Consumer Choices

Hotel Information

The conference is being held at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center (a Marriott Hotel) in Washington, DC. The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center opened on July 1, 2021, following a $64 million renovation!  We have a limited block of Hotel rooms available at special rates for the conference.
